14 DAY TRIAL // While in New York City to attend his cousin’s funeral, Lamar Odom was involved in a car accident that resulted in a motorcyclist and a 15-year-old teen being injured. The latter has died from injuries sustained in the crash.
Reports of the terrible accident started to emerge online yesterday, with some of them even saying that Lamar’s wife, Khloe Kardashian, had also been in the vehicle at the time it occurred.
Word even had it that they narrowly escaped the nearly-fatal crash.
As it turns out, Khloe was not with Lamar at the time, while the basketball pro emerged unscathed from the accident. Not the same can be said about the two victims.
Lamar’s chauffeur-driven car hit a motorcycle, which was then projected on the sidewalk, where it hit a pedestrian.
Both the motorcyclist and the pedestrian sustained severe injuries, with the latter dying in hospital just hours afterwards.
“Odom was in NY on Thursday to attend a funeral for his cousin – and had hired a car service to drive him around town during his visit. But while Odom was in the car, the vehicle was involved in an accident with a motorcycle, which was propelled into a 15-year-old pedestrian,” TMZ reports.
“The boy’s family tells us, the boy sustained major head injuries in the collision,” the e-zine further says.
“The boy was rushed to a nearby hospital and emergency surgery was performed in an effort to save his life, but the injuries proved to be too severe... and the boy died the following day,” the report argues.
The boy was already laid to rest. Odom is said to be “devastated” by what happened and, judging by her tweets, so is his wife.
“Stop judging other people;s lives that u know NOTHING about! My husband&I r in NY 4a funeral 4 his fam. Senseless violence is disgusting!!” she lashed out on her official page.
Her later tweets reveal that she was lashing out at those criticizing for taking the day off Twitter, when she clearly had very good reason to do so.
