Samsung just grabbed most of the attention of the IT industry by launching a bunch of different product lines, and it seems that it has special plans for the plasma TV market, having prepared no less than 15 new models.

Those end-users keeping track of things may have noticed that Samsung became especially active yesterday.

What the outfit did was either unleash or reveal the impending arrival of such things as the Series 9 ultrathin laptop, a complete line of 3D HD displays and Series 2, 4 and 6 laptops for enterprise and education.

Apparently, the outfit also got ready to seriously update its plasma TV portfolio, expecting 2011 to be a watershed year for this display technology.

They are capable of both 2D and 3D modes and are distributed across six product lines while using the Plasma+1 narrow bezel design, leading to larger screen sizes.

To be more specific, the newcomers have diagonals with length of between 43 inches and 65 inches, and their prices definitely reflect it (between $599.99 and $3,799.99).

“Picture quality and screen size remain two of the key factors for consumers looking to purchase a new TV,” said John Revie, senior vice president of Home Entertainment, Samsung Electronics America, Inc.

“By broadening our 2011 plasma TV line up, Samsung is able to deliver products with smart technology, stylish design and features that allow people to create the home entertainment experience they desire.”

Eight of the plasma TVs have a depth of just 1.5 inches and, like the rest, boast the Smart Hub feature, which lets one search content via online services/Samsung Apps and browse the web unassisted by a PC. The software even recommends videos based on viewing history.

The collection is detailed in full here. Two models should have been selling since last month, while the others will show up for sale starting this month and through April 2011.
