An additional 15 levels have been included in the latest version of Angry Birds HD for iPad, alongside a new golden egg. The new release is free to existing users, and is immediately available from the iTunes App Store, exclusively for iPad owners.

Treated to a new Angry Birds Seasons update just a week back, fans of Rovio’s popular puzzle platformer now have a new update to install.

The HD iteration, exclusively available for owners of an Apple tablet, is now at version 1.5.3, which brings new levels and other goodies.

As published by Chillingo Ltd. (the studio handling the iPad port), the release notes are reproduced below.

What's New in Version 1.5.3

HAM 'EM HIGH CONTINUES – YET ANOTHER BLISTERING UPDATE

Angry Birds is back with a brand new update!

New Features in version 1.5.3:

- ADVENTURES IN THE FRONTIER BADLANDS COME TO A CLOSE - 15 NEW LEVELS – EACH MORE CHALLENGING THAN THE NEXT - A NEW GOLDEN EGG THAT IS GOOD, BAD AND UGLY

The company behind the game further acknowledges that Angry Birds 1.5 releases also contain the Mighty Eagle downloadable content.

The DLC is a helper for those who got stuck in some ‘pesky’ level.

“If you get stuck in the game, you have the opportunity to purchase a can of sardines, which you use to lure out the elusive Mighty Eagle.”

“This phenomenal creature will the soar from the skies to wreak havoc and smash the pesky pigs into oblivion!” the makers of the game explain.

Players can only use the Mighty Eagle to pass a level once per hour. However, the purchase is made only once.

“Mighty Eagle is an in-app purchase in Angry Birds and costs $0.99/£0.59/€0.79 to download. One-time purchase, unlimited use!” Chillingo notes.

Angry Birds HD requires an iPad running iOS 3.2 or later. Rovio and Chillingo don’t say whether the game has been tested against the new iOS 4.3 firmware, or the iPad 2.
