146-inch, Ultra High-Resolution Video Wall Unveiled by Planar

Planar has come with quite a few very interesting digital signage solutions lately, and now, the company's back with yet another high-end offering, namely a twelve-megapixel, 146-inch Clarity MegaPixel Wall, delivering ultra-high video resolution and plenty of additional cool features on the side.

Beside providing quite a large diagonal size, the new display solution from Planar delivers quite an impressive resolution, namely up to 5,760 x 2,160 pixels, at a total system depth of only 18 inches, these features making it easy to install in most standard conference rooms and well-suited for applications such as oil and gas exploration, geospatial intelligence, engineering design, scientific visualization, military simulation and video conferencing.

It's also important to mention that, beside the 146-inch model (mp150), Planar's also offering smaller, 8-megapixel version with just 100-inch diagonal size, called Clarity mp100.

Additionally, the digital signage solution also incorporates the Clarity Interlock screen design, which delivers brightness and contrast not possible with traditional large-format seamless designs, as well as an optical calibration control system, that enables an alignment precision level smaller than 1 pixel and a level of uniformity across the entire display of 99 percent.

Last, but certainly not least, we'll also add that the Clarity MegaPixel Wall is source and application agnostic, meaning that it can display virtually any source or application without special drivers or installing additional software.

“Until now, you couldn’t get a wall display with high resolution, high brightness, large screen size and a small footprint,” said Steve Seminario, senior director of product marketing for Planar Systems.

“The Clarity MegaPixel Wall cracks the ultra-high resolution code for conference room settings where teams collaborate and make critical decisions based on high resolution visual information such as maps, simulations, engineering models or detailed business models,” Planar's rep added, while not providing any significant details regarding the pricing and/or availability of this impressive new display solution.
