The Night Sweat Alarm. Weird? You can bet on that!

There are a lot of weird gadgets out there and a couple of them come in at ridiculously high prices despite all the strong doubts regarding their utility. Some could be used for fun, indeed, while others are simply weird and one should be a bit weird as well to put them to any use. Well, such is the case with one of the strangest things lately: the Night Sweat Alarm; and the name can barely speak for its weirdness.

So, you're probably asking yourselves what's cooking with this alarm device. Well, it will wake you up in case you're sweating during your sleep! We told you it was a weird thing, didn't we?

Now, what's the point in such a contraption? If it weren't for the diabetics, for whom this clock can be a life-saver, we're sure that pretty much everybody would say that all this makes no sense: yet it has been documented that prior to a diabetic seizure, the body tends to sweat a lot, thus giving a warning to the pacient or persons around him/her. In case such a seizure would happen at night, there are sufficient odds that the ill person cannot sense the life-threatening moment approaching and the end could be nasty, even fatal.

The Night Sweat Alarm not only emits a characteristic sound (easy to recognize and hear from another room even while asleep), but it also vibrates. A vibrating alarm bracelet attached to one's arm combined with the high-pitched sound of the audio alarm should wake the diabetic person and pretty much all the other persons in the house; and taking the right medication which prevents the development of a diabetic seizure just before it strickes could easily make the difference between life and death.

If you're one of the lucky guys for whom diabetes does not represent a problem or a life-threatening condition, you might say that $140 is too much for such a gadget; but in case you weren't that fortunate, this money could prove one of the best investments.

We are just a few, but there are many of you, Softpedia users, out there. Why would one need a specialized and expensive device attached to one's wrist or ankle to tell when one's skin is damp because of the sweating?

THIS DEVICE IS FOR DIABETICS WHO SUFFER FROM NOCTURNAL HYPOGLYCEMIA, A POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS CONDITION.

Had Florin done just a little research he/she would have discovered that diabetics can suffer extreme insulin reactions overnight that are life threatening. I have had to call 911 on more than one occasion because of insulin reactions where I could barely make the call and could not talk or get out of bed. I keep glucose products on the night stand at all times but going into a diabetic coma makes taking these very difficult. One of the first signs of going into a diabetic coma is sweating, profusely. I have not tried this watch as of yet but plan on doing so. It could save my life.

I found my wife almost in comma tonight. I was just lucky to wake up on time. With this device this could not happend. I think this article is wrong. The truth is that ads of this device is missleading and price is rediculesly high for this simple device. But I will not doubt importance of this kind of device
