14 year old iPhone app developer Canzhi Ye has announced version 2.0 of his Easy Typing iOS app which allows users to more efficiently type on their iPhone or iPod touch, by providing a large, full QWERTY keyboard with key sizes that are twice the size of the ones on the iPhone's default keyboard.

Located in San Antonio, Texas, Canzhi Ye has been developing apps for the iPhone and iPod touch for over a year.

His $0.99 app allows users to take advantage of all the available real-estate on the iPhone and iPod touch screen to type more efficiently, the developer says. Key features include:

- Key sizes based on frequency of use - Keys that are twice the size of the default iPhone keyboard - Commonly used punctuation such as .",?!' is on the main keyboard - Full QWERTY layout - Secondary keyboard includes numbers and math symbols - Export to email and sms with the touch of a button - Simple default copy paste - Auto capitalization

The 2.0 update adds three new functions, Canzhi reveals: posting a Facebook status directly from the app; tweeting directly from the app; and updating a Tumblr account directly from the app.

"Easy Typing has made typing a lot easier for users of the iPhone and iPod touch," said Canzhi Ye.

"This new update provides more uses for the more efficient typing. Users can now keep their online social networking buddies updated by Tweeting, Facebooking, and Tumblring directly from within the app,” the developer of Easy Typing added.

Canzhi took his app’s 2.0 release announcement as an opportunity to “genuinely thank all of my customers for giving Easy Typing a try, and providing very informative feedback and suggestions.”

He concludes, saying “I want to reassure users, current and potential, that Easy Typing is in active development, and updates are currently in the works."

Easy Typing 2.0 costs only $0.99 USD and is available for download through Apple’s iTunes App Store worldwide.

Featured in the App’s Store’s Productivity category, the app is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad, and requires iOS 4.0 or later.

Needless to point out, Apple tablet owners will have little to no use for this piece of software, but the compatibility is there.
