Coming next in the long string of mobile personal computers developed by Micro-Star International is one model based on the current-generation Intel platform and with a display size of 14 inches.

Like other players on the IT market, Micro-Star International has been anything but idle recently, putting together things even besides the mainboards for the new AMD A-Series APUs.

Turns out that the outfit has definitely not been slacking off as far as the laptop market goes, the company having the GX480 notebook as proof.

Like many before it, the mobile personal computer is powered by the Huron River platform, which means that it supports Sandy Bridge CPUs.

In this particular case, the Core i3-2310M or the i5-2410M central processing unit lies at the heart of the configuration, the clock speeds being of 2.1 GHz and 2.3 GHz, respectively.

Meanwhile, the GeForce GT 520 discrete GPU, with 1 GB memory, handles the graphics side of things, including the 14-inch LED-backlit HD LCD (resolution of 1,366 x 768 pixels).

That said, a hard disk drive with a capacity of 640 GB is present and should be able to withstand mild shocks thanks to its position near the middle of the machine.

Additionally, MSI put in a DVD drive and all the expected connectivity and I/O capabilities, along with the ECO Engine and the GPU Boost technologies, plus and ambient light sensor that can adjust brightness to one of 16 levels..

For those that want a more complete list, there is Bluetooth 2.0, a pair of 2W speakers (SRS PC Sound enhanced), Gigabit Ethernet, a 1.3 megapixel webcam, HDMI, USB 3.0, the obligatory 802.11 b/g/n WiFi and a 6-cell battery that can keep everything running for up to 8.5 hours.

Unfortunately, though it shouldn't take long for listings to emerge, there is no word on availability or pricing.
