Thirteen people were shot last night, as passengers in two cars speeding down North Capitol Street opened fire on the crowd gathered on the sidewalk, from the nearby clubs, in front of the apartment building known as Tyler House.

The police have released surveillance video of the incident, in the hope that it could lead to some clues as to the motive of the shooting because, so far, as the Washington Post writes, they have nothing: no motive, no suspects, no clues.

You can see it above.

The victims were struck mostly in the arms and legs and one, who took a bullet to the back, is in critical condition.

“Everybody was screaming. They shooting like directly at us... It coulda been a bloody mess,” Jonique Douglas, 21, who was standing on the sidewalk at the time the shooting started, says.

Tyler House is often the scene of such acts of violence, but never before one as serious as this.
