It really seems that strange things are happening in the “Dell Adamo land,” since, after the ultra-portable system got a price cut back in late December, it's now available at an ever lower price point, although, this time around, the price drop is also accompanied by quite a significant decrease in the overall performance level. As some of you will certainly remember from our previous article on this topic, back in December, the Adamo has received another price cut, but also a slight bump in performance, being equipped, at the moment, with an Intel Core 2 Duo SL9600 central processing unit (CPU), which has a clock speed of 2.1 GHz.

However, it seems that not even the aforementioned price point drop has helped bolster the Adamo's sales, since Dell has just cut the pricing even further, down to 799 US dollars, as clearly visible on the Adamo's dedicated page.

However, as CNET reports, this time around, the company's also cut the overall level of performance delivered by the Adamo, as the machine now comes equipped with an 1.4GHz Core Duo 2 SU9400 and 2GB of DDR3-800 memory, without any upgrade options being available, apparently (at least not in terms of memory and processor, since one will still be able to customize the amount of available storage space).

Apart from the changes in CPU and memory departments, the rest of the Adamo specs sheet has remained pretty much unchanged, the notebook delivering the same ultra-slim profile and attractive features.

Naturally, it remains to be seen just how this move will affect the overall sales of the ultra-portable Apple MacBook Air killer from Dell, but, to be perfectly honest, we believe things can only go uphill from here (after all, had the current Adamo price/performance configuration recorded huge sales, the company would have probably kept in case, but as seen before, that wasn't really the case).
