Ematic is a manufacturer known for its budget tablet models, but the company’s latest addition is a little different than what we have seen so far.

First and foremost, the Ematic Cinema Tab is pretty huge, as it packs a display of 13.3-inches.We could probably safely assume it has been created especially for media streaming.

The device has been spotted at the FCC, but it appears the Cinema Tab has also shown up in the Adorama webshop with a price tag of $300 / €219.

Lilliputing claims that the new Ematic slate could be also spotted on Gettington.com with a chunkier price tag of $350 / €255, but it appears the website is down at the moment.

So far it is known that the Ematic Cinema Tab will features a capacitive multitouch display with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels. It is powered by a 1.6 GHz Rockchip RK3066 ARM Cortex-A9 dual-core processor coupled with 1GB of RAM. 8GB of storage are provided on board and there’s also a microSD card if you want to add more.

Other functionalities include 2 USB ports, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth. The slate runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean out of the box and with such a huge display, don’t expect its life cycle to be too long, as you will only get about 5 hours of battery life.

It’s also not the lightest slate we have seen, at 1.2 kg / 2.7 pounds it could easily rival a notebook. Another extra feat you’ll find here is the built-in kickstand which allows users to use the slate as some sort of mini TV.

If you find a 13.3-inch tablet puzzling, Ematic isn't the only one to have taken a plunge with building such a product. If you want to check out different available options, there’s also the Archos Arnova FamilyPad, Kocaso GX1400 and Colorfly CT132, to look into.
