21 years after her first UK number 1 hit (Into the Groove, 1985) Madonna, just after winning best international female artist at this month's Brits Awards, proved again (though it wasn't exactly necessary) that she still is the queen of pop. Madonna's latest album got mixed reviews but the commercial success was, as expected, huge. Her new Disco Queen looks and disco flavored beats and spirit won over not only her solid fan base, fanatics or nostalgics, but also many teenagers. This summer the artist will go on a worldwide tour and sales for her album are expected to boost as a result of her concerts. This week's UK chart has another newcomer on the second position: Corinne Bailey Rae, winner of the BBC's Sound of 2006 and her song Put Your Records On landed at number two as a challenger for Madonna's Sorry. Jack Johnson saw sales of his album In Between Dreams rising after winning a Brit Award. So he is the leader of the album chart. Another new entry in the album chart was Neil Diamond's 12 Songs (at number 9). In the singles chart, Westlife's Amazing landed at number 4 and The Darkness' Is It Just Me reached number eight.
