Movies on the iTunes Store are looking good...

It looks like history is repeating? who would have guessed it? A year ago, when Apple started selling TV shows on the iTunes Store, there was only one network on board, and a very small number of shows. Now, a year later, those numbers have changed; there are so many choices that you probably wouldn't know what to begin with.

One week ago, Apple started selling movies on the iTunes Store, and just like with TV shows, they started small. The company offered 75 titles, such as "Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl" and "National Treasure," but even so, there were 125,000 movies sold. According to Chief Executive Robert Iger that $1 million in revenue for the first week is just the start, the company is expected to make $50 million in added revenue during the first year of movies on the iTunes Store.

The numbers speak for themselves, and it is safe to say that movies on the iTunes Store are a roaring success. Without a doubt, as Disney clears the broadcast rights to other movies and puts them up for download, those numbers will continue to grow. While Disney is the only partner Apple currently has, after a look at those numbers, everyone else will be wondering why they are not on that train.
