Though the GTS 450 from NVIDIA is keeping most of the attention to itself, other hardware is still trickling forth into the lands of the Internet, and it seems ASUS will soon start shipping the Eee PC 1215T, a 12.1-inch ultra-portable based on an AMD CPU.

Intel may have placed a 10.1-inch screen size limit on laptops based on its Pine Trail platform, but Advanced Micro Devices has no such conditions.

As such, it only took one decision for ASUS to go for a larger form factor when it put together the Eee PC 1215T ultra-portable PC.

Granted, the new laptop is not exactly a netbook, but its specifications do, to some extent, resemble those of entry-level mobile PCs.

The configuration is centered around the AMD Athlon II Neo K125 central processing unit, which has a frequency of 1.7 GHz.

This CPU is backed up by 2GB of DDR3 memory, which is double the amount available on most other entry-level laptops currently on sale.

Granted, the memory amount is not on par with what multimedia-centric notebooks use, but 4GB of RAM are hardly necessary on a device focused on mobility.

The PC also features the Radeon HD 4225 integrated graphics, which has full control over the screen itself, whose native resolution is of 1,024 x 600 pixels.

What's more, according to the report made by Netbook Italia, ASUS's new netbook utilizes a hard drive of 250 GB.

Needless to say, the product comes with all the necessary connectivity and I/O options, including Gigabit Ethernet, Bluetooth 3.0, WiFi and a HDMI output.

Finally, the newcomer is pre-loaded with the Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium Operating System and should start shipping soon. In fact, the ASUS Eee PC 1215T has already been sighted on European online stores, bearing a price tag of 445 Euro.
