President Obama's inaugural speech, which mentioned gay rights for the first time in history, has touched the hearts of members of the LGBT community.

An 11-year-old girl by the name of Sadie thought of writing a speech of her own, because she feels she has been forgotten by politicians in their target groups.

“Sadie was so proud of President Obama for including the gay community in his inaugural address on Monday; however, she felt like the trans community wasn't included,” her mother told HuffPost.

“The world would be a better place if everyone had the right to be themselves, including people who have a creative gender identity and expression. [...] Kids are told not to be friends with transgender kids, which makes us very lonely and sad,” her letter reads.

It was initially picked up by TransGriot, and went viral soon after. Editors offered to protect her identity, but her mother refused. She feels having Sadie express herself will be empowering.
