Even though most tablet makers went for SoCs based on the ARM architecture, such as NVIDIA's Tegra 2, it seems that there are still companies that prefer a platform that supports Windows 7, such as bModo, whose bModo12 has now been detailed.

Even though most end-users may not have heard of bModo, the company actually seems to have put together a fairly promising tablet PC.

The first thing that may or may not attract attention is the screen size of 11.6 inches, which is larger than that of most slates unveiled so far. This means that the bModo12 measures 295 x 195 x 14 mm.

Said display has a native resolution of 1,366 x 768 pixels, which means it supports HD media playback, although it will fall to the discrete 1,080p video accelerator to actually handle video rendering.

Of course, for everything else, like document editing and web browsing, there is always the GMA (Graphics Media Accelerator) 500 integrated solution.

At the center of the configuration lies an Intel Atom N450 central processing unit, whose clock speed is of 1.66 GHz.

This chip is backed up by 1 GB of RAM while internal storage is provided by a solid state drive with a capacity of 32GB.

What's more, the tablet's maker threw in the full collection of connectivity and I/O options, as well as a 4800 mAh battery that can run for up to 5 hours on a single charge.

Said list of connectivity and I/O capabilities includes a 1.3 megapixel webcam, GPS, a G-sensor, Bluetooth 2.1, HSPA 7.2 Mbps and 802.11 b/g/n WiFi.

All of these parts are crammed together in a package that weighs 990 grams and runs the Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium Operating System.

Pre-orders for this media slate can already be set for $699, though this is just a supposedly limited stage. Actual shipments will commence around the holiday season.
