This is the more “common” type of tablet but with a larger than usual screen

Whether because 10.1-inch displays are getting old or some other reason, Lenovo chose to create the IdeaTab Lynx slate with an 11.6-inch panel.

As opposed to the two IdeaPad Yoga, IdeaTab Lynx is a full-fledged Windows 8 tablet, although it can have a keyboard dock, which also doubles the battery life and provides a USB 2.0 port.

Speaking of which, the slate normally lasts for up to 8 hours on a single charge, which means 16 hours with the dock connected.

Alas, said dock will be sold separately, for $150 / 150 Euro, which isn't a very happy thought when the tablet alone costs $600 / 600 Euro or more (sales will begin in December).

That said, the processor at the heart of the tablet is Intel's Atom Z2760 CPU (Clover Trail) and is backed by 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB or 64 GB of storage.

Also, the 11.6-inch LCD is an IPS screen with wide viewing angles and a brightness of 400 nits.

Micro-USB and micro-HDMI ports are also available, along with a 2-megapixel webcam and a microSD card slot.
