10Tacle CEO Quits

Things could have been simple: boss resigns, the company is really sorry, new guy comes in. But it is a bit more complicated and we love that, especially because there is no beef or backstabbing or something similar. Still, the beginning of the story is the same: Aroon Tan, Chief Executive Officer of 10Tacle Asia has decided it's time to quit his job and "pursue his personal evangelistic interest in nextgeneration virtual worlds".

Tan was the big guy at 10Tacle Asia since the division was created back in 2004 and his resignation doesn't come together with a "Bye, hope I'll never see you". Actually, it's exactly the other way around: 10T Asia will work closely with Aroon Tan on a series of up-and-coming "virtual world and online media projects". No details regarding these projects have been given but we are sure we will hear them when the time is right.

Alex Loo, the shareholders' unanimous choice will become Managing Director with immediate effect and he hopes to do at least a job as good as Tan did. Alex Loo was previously 10Tacle's Director of Corporate Planning and the Acting Director of Finance over the past 2 years.

"10T Asia was borne out of the strength of the industry, and with this refocusing of the business, 10T Asia continues to involve and revolve around what unique Asia is offering to the world. I believe we will continue to add value to each new product from conception to launch and by building up strong alliances in the region, we will be in tandem with the explosive growth of the online digital media and games industry," Loo said.

The new director already has plans regarding the company's future: potential investments into locally produced handheld titles are being analyzed, while the attraction of an overseas studio to set up base in Singapore and start working on a MMO game is high and this will be the company's next move.
