1080p and Rumble for God of War 3

What, you think that's a typo? Well, it's not, the title really says God of War 3, although it
was announced rather indirectly. During the launch party of God of War 2, game director Cory Barlog mentioned that the next GoW in the series will run at 1080p and have the SIXAXIS rumbling in your hands. As many of you probably already know, Sony has shaken up with Immersion on the vibration issue for the SIXAXIS; so rumbling games for the PS3 should not come as a surprise anymore.

Thing is, the most important part of Barlog's statement isn't the rumbling or the running at 1080p, but the fact that a new GoW is on the way, when GoW2 has just launched. The PSP porting of the Greek Mythology-based title is also on its way by the end of 2007, as you may have heard, or even figured out for yourself if you've seen the back of the GoW manual.

With the arrival of the PS3, people should be ever more excited, due to its impressive functions that make other consoles look like crap. But no, all these years of evolving and developing the best gaming system were just to have people cheering when they hear they're actually going to have rumble on their PS3 games. Sure, it was pretty nice and new when the PSone had launched and it stayed popular ever since, but we're surfing the net with our gaming systems now, Wi-Fi even, playing HD DVDs and Blu-rays on them, multiplaying wirelessly and so on. Who even thought that rumble wasn't going to be included?
