CI Games, the Polish developer behind the upcoming Lords of the Fallen role-playing game, has confirmed that it's much easier to hit a 1080p full HD native resolution on the PS4 than on the Xbox One, once again emphasizing the difference in power between the new consoles.

Both the PS4 and the Xbox One arrived last November and, immediately after, the PS4 started gaining momentum in terms of sales but also game performance, as a lot of titles fared better when it came to resolution, framerate, or both on the PS4 than on the Xbox One.

This trend is set to continue in the future, as CI Games has revealed through the voice of its Executive Producer, Tomasz Gop, that it's much easier to hit a bigger native resolution on Sony's console than on the Xbox One.

While talking with IGN, he said that the 30fps framerate is the absolute minimum for his team and that it's likely that the studio will push for a higher resolution than a faster framerate with Lords of the Fallen.

"We definitely won’t be below 30fps, definitely," he said. "I think if we have to choose between resolution and framerate, we’ll probably choose to go full HD 1080p and have a stable, rock-solid 30fps, rather than try to lower the resolution and push it to 60fps because we believe this game looks pretty good, so we’d rather have a decent resolution to show it off."

What's more, the PS4 is easier to work with and right now the team can easily make it run the game at 1080p native resolution, although the Xbox One might also be able to do that once the team has finished working on it.

"We’re working very hard right now to deliver PS4 and Xbox One in 1080p but I can’t confirm whether it’s possible. It’s probably easier for me to confirm it’ll happen for PlayStation 4, because it appears on this one we’re almost nailing it and pretty much there. For Xbox One though, it’s slightly tougher and we’re still working on it, so I can’t confirm that yet."

Lords of the Fallen has already impressed quite a lot of different gamers worldwide with a great video and some visually-delightful screenshots, so it's going to be interesting to see if the title can deliver on its promises.

The game will appear later this year on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
