105-Year-Old Edythe Kirchmaier Is Facebook's oldest user

Santa Barbara, California's Edythe Kirchmaier has officially been dubbed Facebook's oldest user.

I reported about 105-year-old Kirchmaier when she renewed her driver's license, last month. She is still active, has 2 children and 17 grand-children.

According to ABC News, she is using Facebook to help Direct Relief, a charity where she has been a volunteer for the last 40 years.

"I've been contacted by such wonderful people and received such nice messages and pictures from people all over the world. [...] I'm so humbled by all the interest in me," she says.

She is hoping to raise awareness about the organization, having people light a virtual candle for her if they liked the Direct Relief Facebook page.

"I'm hoping to get 105,000 likes for the page," she adds. So far, the non-profit is up to more than 78,000 likes.
