On the downside, they might not be all that great for talking a walk in the rain

It will be a while until Adidas' latest spring/summer collection of sneakers and running shoes hits the public eye, but brand aficionados can get an idea of what the models will look like thanks to British artist Chris Anderson.

According to Inhabitat, he has recently teamed up with the sports clothing and accessories manufacturer, and has received its permission to use 100% recycled cardboard to recreate some of the models featured in the upcoming spring/summer 2014 collection.

By the looks of it, the sneakers recreated by the British artist are the Stan Smith, the Campus, the Superstar Shelltoe and the ZX8000.

Chris Anderson's cardboard sneakers are now on display at the Chimp Store in Leeds, England.

As noticeable in the picture above, they sport not just the trademark parallel bars that Adidas is quite famous for, but even have shoelaces made from jute twine.

Sadly, they aren't supposed to be worn, though I have to say I would enjoy taking a pair out for a walk. Just not in the rain.
