The New Twitter is now completely rolled out and available to all of its users. The redesigned Twitter was unveiled a month ago and was slowly made available to more users. Now everybody can access it though users will still have a choice to use the old version for a few more weeks.

"As of today, everyone who uses Twitter now has access to the new Twitter. Whether you’re just signing up today or you’ve been a user for years, this new experience is finally real for everyone – all 160 million of you – and in six languages to boot," Twitter announced.

"So while we still (and will always) have plenty of work to do, we’re pleased with the positive reaction so far. People are telling us that they love that we’ve kept the timeline simple while also providing a richer experience through the details pane," the announcement added.

Though introduced with little fanfare and slowly rolled out to users, the New Twitter is a radical redesign.

While it retains most of the things that made Twitter popular in the first place, it adds so many new things that it can easily compete with some of the dedicated Twitter clients out there.

The right panel adds a lot of context to any tweet or its author and also enables users to view media content - photos, videos - on the same page.

This should give users less reasons to leave the site and increase the time they spend on Twitter.com.

Surprisingly, for such a massive redesign, there were very little complaints if any. Given the scale Twitter has, the site boasts 160 million users now, a previously unreleased number, it's encouraging and a good sign for the team.

The early success of the new site gives more weight to Evan Williams', one of Twitter's cofounders and the one largely responsible for the redesign, decision to step down as CEO and focus on the product.
