If you haven't forgotten about Fujitsu-Siemens' small sized Amilo portable computer we mentioned in some of our previous articles, then we have good news, as a couple of new details have recently emerged. And, judging from them, we should be seeing Fujitsu-Siemens officially unveil its small-sized netbook even earlier than September.

According to a recent article on IDG's ITWorld, the systems vendor will showcase its new small-sized Amilo notebook at this year's IFA trade show in Berlin. The trade will take place between August 29 and September 3, but the company plans to officially unveil the small-sized computer one day earlier, on August 28. This means that, in just 10 days from now, ASUS' Eee PCs and all the other netbooks currently available on the market will get a new competitor.

Unfortunately, as with every other unreleased product, technical details for the small notebook are still scarce. Aside from being featured in a YouTube video, of which we told you not too long ago, Fujitsu-Siemens' Amilo Mini is yet to prove itself as a real Eee PC killer. According to several recent rumors, the upcoming portable computer will also be part of the Intel Atom-powered bunch. It will probably sport a 1.3 MP webcamera and will be provided with a Windows XP operating system. The price tag is expected to be set somewhere in the €300 to €400 range.

According to another video in which the highly anticipated netbook is featured, the Amilo Mini will sport several interchangeable faceplates that have different colors, including brown, black, pink and red. Unfortunately, this is just about everything we know about the new netbook - on the bright side, as we're getting closer to the official unveiling date, a general picture of the product is shaping up.

As already noted in several of our previous posts, the netbook market is currently marked by a very strong and dynamic growth tendency, enabling various system vendors achieve their quarterly financial estimations.
