In 2003, the music mogul Jay Z said that his 'Black Album' would also be his last but few were those who actually believed it. As a matter of fact, most said that it was all just a publicity stunt meant to boost album sales, especially considering that Jay continued to record and produce music.
Now, in an exclusive interview with 'Entertainment Weekly', Shawn Carter (the rapper's real name) stated that his next album will hit shelves in November. 'Kingdom Come' will include collaborations with the biggest names in hip-hop industry, like Dr. Dre, Timbaland and Kanye West. And, in the idea of bringing new sounds to Jay Z's music, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin was also asked to produce one of the tracks, 'Beach Chair'.
After almost three years after his so-called 'retirement', the rapper is trying to convince people that the idea (oh, where did it come from?) was far-fetched from the very start while, at the same time, claiming that he really believed that he was retired. 'I believed it, yeah. I believed it for two years', he said and then jokingly added: 'It was the worst retirement in history'.
As for 'retiring' again, the thought is far from Jay Z, but the option remains open... only not now. 'If I wake up one day and the best material has passed me by - and that's going to happen, then it's time to move on. I've said what I wanted to say', the rapper concluded.
