'The Game Plan', Disney's latest production, starring Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, got delayed because, on Monday, the actor ruptured his Achilles tendon during rehearsals.
'The Rock', best known for his past wrestling career, for his parts in 'The Mummy Returns', 'The Scorpion King', 'Walking Tall', 'The Rundown' and 'Doom' and for his outstanding physique was to play the part of a pro quarterback who just finds out that he has a daughter of whose existence he was unaware.
Johnson is not a stranger to the football field, as he tried to make it to the pros during his younger years but suffered a serious back injury and turned his attention towards wrestling instead.
Unfortunately, Disney has to delay production for the movie until its star is healed, given the fact that they aren't even considering replacing him. 'The Rock' will have surgery on Friday and, hopefully, he will have a speedy recovery, with the help, quote, of 'some TLC, pizza and a lot of doughnuts', as the actor stated, demonstrating the press that, although severely injured, he hasn't yet lost his sparkling sense of humor.
The shooting was set to start next week in Boston, but production has been postponed until an uncertain date, no earlier than this autumn.
