Despite the good reaction the teaser trailer for the third installment of the 'Spider-Man' series got at Comic Con in July, it seems that Sam Raimi is afraid that the same will happen to his movie as it did to 'Superman Returns'.
In fact, James France - who plays one of the villains in 'Spider-Man 3' - let it slip that the director is not at all that content with the footage filmed and edited until now and that he is calling the entire cast back on the set to re-do some of the more essential scenes.
James Franco plays the troubled friend of Peter Parker/Spider-Man and he has just finished shooting 'Camille', opposite Sienna Miller. When asked by a reporter from MTV which will be his next project, Franco said: 'The next thing I'm shooting? Re-shoots of "Spider-Man"... Probably next month. Director Sam Raimi wants more action'.
The director's decision came after test audiences resulted in many complaints as to the movie lacking in 'action'. In order to avoid the film from being a box-office flop or to disappoint the fans, Raimi, Tobey Maguire, Kirsten Dunst, James Franco, Topher Grace, Bryce Dallas Howard and Thomas Haden Church will return to the set and reshoot most of the scenes from 'Spider-Man 3'.
Raimi had only a few words for Spider-Man's fans: 'Be patient, it's going to be worth the wait'. We sure hope so.
