The episode from the popular cartoons 'South Park' that mocked Scientology and its most fervent follower, Tom Cruise, is to start airing again from July 19.
Originally, it was taken off the schedule in May because it was said that it terribly upset the actor and he demanded that it be canceled.
It was right before the release of 'Mission Impossible III', a movie produced by Paramount, and maybe Cruise suspected that the airing of 'Trapped in the Closet' would be very detrimental to his image.
But Viacom owns both Paramount and Comedy Central (that produces 'South Park'). At the time, representatives for the mega-star stated that they had nothing to do with the whole taking off the air business.
Spokesperson Tony Fox declared yesterday that the network rotates the 150 episodes of the cartoon in and out of the broadcasting schedule and it just happened that 'Trapped in the Closet' came back in.
Trey Parker and Matt Stone, co-creators of 'South Park' were very dissatisfied with the network's decision in May, but they infirm rumors that there is actually a growing rift between them and the company.
'It's true we're not as big as Tom Cruise, but we've done two movies for Viacom and 10 years of 'South park' episodes, and this has been our home. If they hadn't put this episode back on the air, we'd have had serious issues, and we wouldn't be doing anything else with them', Matt Stone said in a declarations released yesterday.
