
The accident that befell the star of HBO's most popular drama series led to the delay of the next season until March. James Gandolfini was knocked off his scooter by a taxi a few weeks ago and Chris Albrecht, HBO Chairman, just announced that he is to undergo surgery on the injured knee. The period of recuperation after the surgery is to last a few weeks.
Such a thing as being delayed is not uncommon to 'The Soprano' series and fans got pretty used to being kept waiting.
This time, though, it is even harder as this is the final 'bonus' season and everybody is already wondering if the show will end with Tony Soprano's death.
When asked if that will be the case, Albrecht, answered: 'Are you high? I might as well shoot myself in the head if I tell you that', totally refusing to disclose any details concerning the last episodes.
One thing is for sure: we won't be seeing the mob family in January, as it was initially scheduled, but in March, because producers don't want the show to air at the same time with the football playoffs and the Super Bowl. That would be bad business, indeed...
