The bond that the actress shares with the comic book characters was so strengthened by the part she played in the semi-animated 'Sin City' that she decided to take that experience and transfer it into a work of her own.
Dawson is co-creator of the new comic book series 'Occult Crimes Taskforce', launched on Thursday at Comic-Con, the largest comic book convention in the US.
After the presentation of the story of 'OCT', revolving around a police officer, Sophia Ortiz, who solves NY crimes with the help of her supernatural powers, Rosario talked to the press and to her fans about her first artistic endeavor of this kind.
Apparently, the actress has had a passion for comic book stories ever since she was a little girl and starring in 'Sin City' just made her realize that she can do more than just be 'a third part of the production', as she put it.

She joined forces with writer David Atchinson and a team of designer artists and, using as point of departure her own personality and physical aspect, they created the kick-ass cop Ortiz. The four-book series has been described as a half-way between 'CSI' and 'Harry Potter' and is already having a real success.
The actress finished off her statement by adding that she has high hopes that, someday, her comic book will be adapted into a movie and a video game, both of them starring her as the daring Sophia. But, until then, we will see her in 'Sin City 2' (scheduled to start filming next year) and Quentin Tarantino's 'Death Proof'.
