14 DAY TRIAL // Shadow is a clipboard utility for Mac OS X, developed by The Escapers. Installed as a menu item alongside Spotlight, Time Machine and other system extensions, Shadow manages multiple clipboard items, in an infinite number of clipboards. Clipboards can be shared over the local network, even protected by a password. The program has just entered a public beta, which you are also invited to attend.

Shadow uses Apple’s Bonjour technology to automatically seek out other Shadow users on your network. To make it easy to see who owns which copy of Shadow, users can set Shadow to display a picture of themselves, along with their name and an optional description.
For each Mac it is installed on, Shadow provides a multi-item clipboard, to which you can add as many clipboards as you want. You can assign them different names, and store all your clippings in your own categories. If you want to share a particular clipboard, Shadow offers this option as well. You can also set a password to protect them, should you want to share the respective clipboard with only a limited number of users. Shadow can operate on wired or wireless networks, but no complicated settings are required on behalf of the user, developer The Escapers assures.
The developer also notes that Shadow will not, under any circumstances, slow down your network, as network traffic is only created on discovering a clipboard, or on viewing a clipboard for the first time. Every transfer gets done in under a second.
