'Lost' Promises Answers to the Mysteries from the Second Season

At the launching of the second season on DVD, 'Lost - The Complete Second Season', the cast of the ABC hit series revealed some information about the forthcoming season, set to premiere on October 4th. First of all, some of the questions left unanswered in the previous episodes will be addressed and clarified in the first six episodes of the third season.

'I think for every question that's answered, there's another one that's posed, and that's kind of what keeps people coming back', the producer of the show, Ryan Burke, said last night, at the DVD release ceremony. But one thing is for sure: fans are to expect some major changes in the series.

First of all, there would be no more hatch (the bunker the castaways discover) and the action will move to a new location, which will better enable the plot to develop. 'Let's just say it was one big explosion', the producer said about its disappearance from the plot.

Another change of 'Lost' will also be the focusing on the new characters' love life. Burke hinted that Sawyer (Holloway) and Jack (Matthew Fox) will eventually end up by competing for Kate's (Evangeline Lilly) affection. 'There'll be a lot of love. There'll be a lot of comedy. But we can never forget that these people are in a very dark place', he added, stressing on the idea that the show is less than likely to fall on the softer side.

Starting from October 4th, six brand new episodes of 'Lost' will air on ABC in consecutive weeks, while the remaining 17 of the third season will air without any interruption from midwinter to late spring.
