'Kramer' Richards Keeps on Apologizing

Since the epithet-laden incident last week, when Michael Richards was caught on tape while insulting two black men, as he was doing a stand up number at the Laugh Factory in Los Angeles, the comedian has done nothing else but apologize all the time.

Richards, who became famous once his character in 'Seinfeld', Kramer Cosmo grew on the viewers, was so offended for being interrupted in the middle of his number that he began to hurl racial insults towards two men who were heckling him. The whole scene was caught on tape by a paparazzo from TMZ and the footage soon became common knowledge.

The comedian apologized as soon as the scandal began, first appearing on David Letterman's 'The Late Show' and then to two representative figures of the black community and civil rights leaders. In all three statements, the comedian insisted that he was not a racist and that the outburst was caused not by bigotry but by repressed anger and hurt. 'I'm not a racist, that's what's so insane about this', was the actor's final plea.

But the two men who unwillingly became the targets of Richards' outburst are not satisfied with his apology, as neither are the many fans he used to have. For Frank McBride and Kyle Doss, sorry just doesn't cut it and they hired a lawyer to represent them in court, if necessary.

Until now, the two have asked for the actor to apologize to them in person and maybe even consider some financial damage. 'It's not enough to say "I'm sorry". He went after them. He singled them out and taunted them, and he did it in a closed room where they were captive', the lawyer told the press.

On the other hand, Richards claims that later that same night, he went back to the Laugh Factory to try and undo the wrong he had done, but he was no longer able to find the men with whom he had exchanged words a couple of hours before. He says that he will ask for their forgiveness 'face to face, man to man', but insists that, until now, he couldn't get in contact with them.

Useless to say, both McBride and Doss are set to take the matter to court, to get some sort of compensation for being thus humiliated and many say that no amount of 'sorry' will make up for the harm done. We'll keep you posted with more information.
