With 'The Ring' and 'King Kong' safely under her belt, one can easily infer that the Australian actress Naomi Watts knows a thing or two about screaming, while playing the tough yet vulnerable blonde. If she accepts the offer that Michael Bay reportedly made her, her resume of Scream Queen will be complete.

Word that a remake after Alfred Hitchcock's 1963 'The Birds' got out a while ago, but no confirmation of it was ever made. Now, it is official that it will be made and the script will be written by the famed screenwriter Leslie Dixon, the same one who brought back 'The Thomas Crowne Affair' (1999) and 'Hairspray'.

Michael Bay, whose prequel to 'The Texas Chainsaw Massacre' is now running in the US theaters, will produce the project, with some saying that he will even do a bit of directing too for it. And Bay already thought of a leading actress to fill in Tippi Hedren's shoes: Naomi Watts.

The English Born and Australian raised beauty will play (again, if she accepts the offer) a wealthy San Francisco socialite who travels to a small town in Northern California to meet her boyfriend. There, the couple will be faced with flocks of birds that launch on vicious attacks on people.
