Devs encouraged to join in with suggestions on how to improve the venue and their relationship with Apple

Layton Duncan from Polar Bear Farm has set up a website welcoming iPhone developers that might have a suggestion or two about how their apps should be handled. Pretty much every iPhone dev knows how frustrating the App Store can be with some devs seeing their apps rejected without any explanation, so the site's purpose is obvious.

Polar Bear Farm is known for several, top selling iPhone and iPod touch applications, including Note Pad, Record, Nice List, and Telegram, to name few from their portfolio. TUAW points out that Layton has used the Polar Bear Farm blog quite a few times in order to stress how the App Store could be improved (quite frankly, we have a few of our own, but let's not lose the focus).

Layton has now an entirely new site dedicated to what he started on his blog. Simbolically titled “ImproveTheAppStore,” the website aims to act as a sounding board for all developers, who are expected to make suggestions, but also to contact Apple through the Developer Connection channels. All of them are encouraged to join the movement. From the newly-set up site, a message going out to all iPhone developers sounds as follows:

This site chronicles the thoughts of iPhone developers on the state of the App Store. It's can be a difficult subject for most developers to talk publicly about, however these are the thoughts of some of the best developers who are adding significant value to the iPhone / iPod platform, with a genuine desire and will to see this platform improve upon the quality standards that Apple have set. Hopefully Apple values the feedback here, and recognizes that we want to continue to be able to contribute to this platform, and that means changes to the App Store must continue to be made.

Whether or not you're a developer, you can visit the new website here, but not until you drop us a comment.
