Word got out that the beautiful actress has finally convinced director Alan Parker ('Mississippi Burning', 'The Commitments') to work on her pet script 'Ice at the Bottom of the World', a script that has been in her possession for the last decade.
The story of 'Ice' revolves around a family drama, about a retired Navy officer who returns home and finds his daughter (played by Theron) a cocaine addict and single mother of a multi-racial child.
Rumors about Charlize planning to give a hand in the movie's production are already circulating, as her first shot in this new filed proved very successful (the actress collaborated in the independently produced 2003 'Monster', that assured her an Oscar award for best actress).
The movie is said to start filming later this autumn and has been scheduled for release in December 2007. Its estimated budget is almost $20 million and the script (based on a series of short stories by Mark Richard) is currently under re-writing and polishing.
