Yesterday, I was telling you about the sex scandal that seems to be ripping the 'American Idol' talent competition apart. Of course, don't expect to see it on TV: all the ripping apart is limited to the viewers of the show. While the producers and the judges of 'Idol' seem blind to the frenzy in the media, the viewers (after all, the public who will vote) are divided: Antonella should be axed from the show on account of the racy photos leaked on the Internet or she should be kept because she really has what it takes to become the next 'Idol'.
It all started a while back, when photos of Antonella began to surface on the web. Initially, they were innocent, even if potentially offensive for some, as they showed her on the toilet, engaging in underage drinking with her friends and posing topless (and with her breasts covered) on a beach. In time, the photos will become more and more daring, culminating with pics of Antonella engaging in a sexual act with an unknown man. Friends of hers claim that these outright pornographic photographs are not of Antonella and they bring arguments to prove it.
However, even if that were the case, that still leaves the question of Miss Barba posing almost naked in the fountain of the WWII Memorial (quick, go and get your grandpa and show him the photo! He would be very happy!) and in various sexy/provocative outfits, including the now common sexy secretary and naughty nurse. Usually, this is the kind of thing that would get someone booted from 'American Idol', but not Antonella (the alleged reasons for this are presented
HERE).

However, Antonella stands good chances of being axed from the show but not because of the photos. Her vocal skills are, how to put it?, NOT good. To paraphrase kick-ass judge Simon Cowell, she kinda sucks. Anyway, no need to worry: Antonella might not make it as a singer, but she still has something to fall back on - a career with 'Girls Gone Wild'. True, it's not quite 'Playboy', but I imagine, in this situation, anything will do.
Joe Francis, the creator of the successful franchise and founder of Mantra Films Inc. spoke to the media and then revealed that he has already made contact with Antonella's family, in the view that they might convince her to agree (plus, she is not allowed to talk to the press while on the 'Idol' camp). 'We have reached out to Antonella Barba through her family and are trying to reach her directly in order to offer her a hosting job for one of our upcoming video projects. Just like the "American Idol" judges, we at "Girls Gone Wild" are looking for a girl next door, with sexiness, attitude, a carefree spirit and a presence that will command the attention of the Nation.', Francis says.
And then he goes on to defend Antonella: she is not a bad girl, so she shouldn't be treated as such. Now, why would he get the impression that we think of her as a 'bad girl'? Naughty, maybe. But definitely not 'bad'. 'Antonella Barba is an unbelievably sexy girl who obviously knows how to have a good time. Why are people being ridiculed and punished for being sexual? It's ridiculous. There's a little "Girls Gone Wild" in every woman and this should be embraced as a positive, not a negative.', Joe Francis explained.
OK. Agreed. So it's 'Girls Gone Wild' then!
