'Death' on FOX, with Brad Garrett

For this fall season, FOX promised two brand new sitcoms to make the viewers' lives more sunny and happy. One of them was ''Till Death' (with 'Everybody Loves Raymond' star, Brad Garrett) and 'Happy Hour' and both are to premiere tonight.

The latter got such bad reviews, being already called 'The Happy Hour in Hell' or compared to 'a barrel of angered monkeys', that it's almost useless to talk about it. On the other hand, 'Death' was Brad's long-expected chance of proving that there is life after the hit series 'Raymond', which got him so many Emmy nominations and actual awards.

Unfortunately, the latest sitcom just proved that the curse does exist and reviewers are yet to say whether it's the awful script of ''Til Death' or the fact that Garrett can't act the reason for which FOX wouldn't be getting high audiences this fall.

The sitcom is as boring as one might easily expect, considering that it bears a close resemblance to a much earlier one, 'Married... with Children' and to all those self-titled comedies that barely make the viewer smile from time to time. It's all about a happily married, but predictable and unexciting couple (Garrett and Joely Fisher), who meet their newlywed neighbors (Eddie Kaye Thomas and Kat Foster).

Everything, from the matching names of the neighbors (Jeff and Steph), to the uninspired lines and the poor acting and the less-than funny moments, is lame. And it gets even lamer once you realize that you've seen and heard it dozens of times before, in other sitcoms.

All in all, FOX is not looking so good on its 'funny' side. 'Till Death' debuts tonight on Channel 5 (20.00), while the other disastrous comedy, 'Happy Hour', makes its premiere at 20.30, also on Channel 5.
