The man who created one of the biggest and most lucrative franchises in the movie industry announced, no less than a couple of days ago, that he would not work on blockbust flicks anymore. When the world wrongfully believed that George Lucas would be taking a well-deserved vacation, we find out that there's more up his sleeve... like, going into television.
Lucas announced that, although 'Star Wars' is over as far as he's concerned, he has big plans to make an animated spin-off of 'Clone Wars', the TV version of the movie. The show initially ran on Cartoon Network between 2003-2005 and it was even awarded with an Emmy at the time.
The famous director specified that, at the moment, he has no network in mind to air the new animated series but he was willing to reveal a bit more about it. He said that the action will take place in a time when the Republic is at war with the civil separatists led by Count Dooku.
The series will use only 3-D computer animation. But do not expect to hear the voices of the famous actors that starred in the movies: the director wants to go with unknown young actors this time. 'It's a fun place to go. It basically has all the main characters, such as Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi. There's nobody famous', was all that Lucas said about the oncoming project.
