A survey was conducted by Informa Telecoms and Media to see which TV show gets the most ratings. Lead in 20 countries, the series voted most popular was the forensic drama 'CSI: Miami', developed by Jerry Bruckheimer and starring David Caruso as the leading man of a crew of specialists who always get the case solved.
But 'CSI' is not just a one-hit wonder, as the survey showed that it had occupied and held fast the number one position (in ratings) since 2005.
Adam Thomas, the research manager in charge of the study said that its purpose was, quote, 'to find the most consistently successful program worldwide in terms of attracting viewers. We were not therefore concerned with shows that performed extremely well in a relatively small number of markets'.
The original 'CSI: Crime Scene Investigation', also produced by Bruckheimer and located in Las Vegas also occupied a position in the top ten of the most popular TV shows, but came on sixth, after 'Lost' and 'Desperate Housewives'.
