Good news for gamers who like a good bargain and don't feel that they instantly have to play a newly rolled out game, retailing for a fortune: up on GoGamer, a list of eight almost old titles has been made available (mostly for the PC), retailing between 3.90 and 27.90 bucks, depending on the launch date and of course gameplay quality.
Here's what's best of the lot, as Evil Avatar points out:
PC - GUN - $5.90
PC - Ankh - Heart of Osiris (Import) - $27.90
PC - Cold War - $4.90
PC -
Medal of Honor Allied Assault War Chest - $7.90
PC - Mage Knight: Apocalypse with Bonus - $9.90
PC -
The Godfather: The Game - $3.90
PC - Whirlwind of Vietnam UH-1 - $14.90
Wii - Avatar: The Last Airbender - $14.90
Of course, I didn't just open the subject so I could post the list of cheap games made available by GoGamer and then run off to drink some tea. What I want to ask everyone is this: How many times do offers like this satisfy gamers, and I mean like "Oh my God! I've been waiting for this my whole life" satisfy?
The thing is, I've never taken advantage of an offer like this. I buy my games new in their plastic seal or steal them from my friends' drawers, but never have I trusted ads saying that a "great" title, retailing for "just" this little is "available" for you to fill your personal collection of video games. The site doesn't use these exact words but most ads like this do, plus this list of games sounds quite appealing.
So I am asking you: if you're the kind of gamer that keeps an eye out for these ads, how great of a level of satisfaction do you get from buying the games? Are the cheap ones good, fairly good, so and so, or lousy? My guess is that they're lousy and that there's no one out there to say it, because there's no one to buy them. Well, almost no one. I guess it has to do a lot with preferences too. I'd get the
Tomb Raider collection from 1 to 5 in a giffy, whether it was one
DVD or 5 CDs.
The thing is, if they were any good, they wouldn't be retailing for little money, unless they are ages old. Write your success/failure with cheap games/gams on sale in the comments column.
