Wonder no more - Britney's new "Break the Ice" cartoon animated video has just been released, and it's everything it was cracked up to be, plus a little on the side. The video features a superhero, leather-clad Britney, living in an obviously futuristic world and fighting what looks like an army of mutant creatures, clones and robots. The animation style, evident in the choice of color palettes and figure characterizations reminds us of the avantgarde science fiction animated television series "Aeon Flux", which aired on MTV's Liquid Television experimental animation show in the early 1990s. Set to Britney's breathy, hea... As a result, Britney's record label is about to release yet another single off Britney's controversial "Blackout" album, as proof that despite all her troubles, Britney's presence on the musical scene is undeniable. "Break the Ice" will thus benefit from an original, cartoon animated video fe... I said "was" because "Discipline" hit the shelves last week and it wasn't the revelation everyone was hoping for. Don't get me wrong - it's not plain bad, but I dare say the world expected much better of Miz Janet, the diva who was rocking the dance floors all around the world some ten years back. Nevertheless, her new "Discipline" album still has some traces of the old Janet, mixed with some new up-tempo beats and interlaced with a lot of sexually ex... And since it's this particular Monday, it's all about the Grammys. And yes, it was a wonderful night, with an impressive number of stars coming out to play and relishing the spotlight and the chance to show off their glamor factor. Everybody who was somebody was at the Grammys last night, and made full use of the chance to look fabulous and pose for the cameras on the red carpet, after such a (so far) dry award season brought about by the soon-to-b... You can watch a better quality preview below (and the full clip HERE) and make up your own minds about it - but let me tell you that it's definitely an improvement compared to the hot mess that was "Gimme More". I'm talking both about the single itself and the video, which was shot in a rush, had a lousy concept and was just plain bad. Not that "Piece of me" is going to win any awards for video of the year - but I can definitely call it a major improvement. Not only does Britney look clean and more focused, but there... [read more >>] Well, I lived to see this day... now I can pretty much die a peaceful death and go to hell quietly, my heart bursting with the joy of having seen a preview of Brit Brit's latest music video. And as much as I regret to say it, I feel a little bit like a food critic who went to a restaurant prepared to trash the place, but ended up enjoying the food just a little bit. How confusing - not to mention infuriating - is that? I mean, you prepare your best pen, your notebook (which is basically a list of all the places you once trashed in your reviews and who probably ended up bankrupt because of you), you sit down at the table, take a bite an... Yet, this doesn't apply to the artist with the biggest number of nominations is concerned - I'm talking about the very talented, occasionally tantrum-throwing Kanye West, who received eight nominations. On second place, however, with six nominations, comes none other than Amy Winehouse - the very talented singer whose stormy love life and drug addiction seemed to have distracted the critics and public alike from her soulful, jazzy music. "She makes Lindsay Lohan look cool" it was said about Amy when the nominations were announced. Well, that... And it's...well, I know "boring" is a strong word, but I can't think of a better way to describe it without going into too many details. You can watch it below, and make up your own minds about it, but as far as I'm concerned, it might just as well have been a run down the catwalk or a magazine spread, the idea is the same: make as much fuss about each of the girls, show them wearing some ultra-glamorous or teasing, sexy outfits and as an afterthought, have them sing. One thing about this... [read more >>] Kylie Minogue is back with a vengeance! The glamorous Australian singer will be taking yet another decisive step in her triumphant return on the world stage by releasing her new single "2 Hearts" first digitally on November 5th and in stores a week later, on November 12th. This is the first commercial single released from Kylie's new album tentatively called "X" which will hit the market at the end of November. "2 Hearts" was composed and produced by London electro pop band Kish Mauve and Victoria Newton of The Sun recently described this single as "a sure-fire number one, a classic Kylie song you won't stop humming. Expect her to... [read more >>] Victoria Beckham has been struck down with a chest infection, which could have disastrous effects over the Spice Girls reunion tour, set to kick off in under a month. Victoria is worried that because of the infection she will not be in a good enough shape to join the other girls for rehearsals in a few weeks time ahead of their performance at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show at Hollywood's Kodak Theater, which will air live on November 15th.And while the actual tour kicks off on December 2nd in Vancouver, Canada, it is true that Victoria's illness comes at a very bad time for the all-girl band, which has sparked a huge inte...
